The first of our many student-facing websites was launched in 2002. In 2006 the founder was bought out by Chris Newson and a consortium of private investors. Acumen PI is the company that runs Coursework.Info. Acumen PI is a trading name for Acumen Professional Intelligence Ltd, and our offices are in North Laine, Brighton.

As well as owning Coursework.Info, Acumen PI are proud to run the UK's largest Student Community - The Student Room. Coursework.Info is run by the following people:

Chris studied Marketing & Finance at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. He now lives in Brighton and is married with two children, two squirrels and a whole bunch of plastic toys.

Previously Chris was a leading member of the Board of Directors who grew Jobsite rapidly and profitably before selling a significant stake to Manpower Inc in 2000. Daily Mail and General Trust bought the whole company in 2004. Following that sale, Chris worked as an Internet Consultant predominantly for Manpower Inc - the $16 Billion multinational HR Services company - before buying Acumen PI in February 2006.

Chris would like to spend his time kite-surfing, skiing and snowboarding, but even he's starting to believe the accusations that he's approaching his 15th anniversary since last exercising. Work, family and reality TV shows just keep conspiring against him.

Chris is the Managing Director and majority shareholder of Acumen PI.

Pete is Acumen PI's Operations Director. He is Acumen PI's longest standing employee, having been with the company since 2003. In his youth Pete used to DJ and is still a bit of a drum and bass aficionado.

Pete studied Geology at Plymouth University before working for Friends of the Earth. Pete likes rocks but only gets to sit on them with his children these days.

He is now (virtually) married with 3 children and a cat. Pete lives in Brighton.

As well as being responsible for Operations, Pete also has Board responsibility for Customer Support, Quality, Finance and Ethics. Pete is also the lead Director for Coursework.Info.

Having secured an impressive array of A grades at GCSE and A Levels, Warren went on to study Maths at the University of York. He then decided to become a secondary school Maths Teacher.

However, being a lover of bagels and The Student Room, Warren soon realised that a career at Acumen PI was inevitable.

Warren deals with the majority of support enquiries from both Coursework.Info and The Student Room - so if you get stuck whilst using the site, he'll be there to help you out.

Amongst many other important tasks, Warren has responsibility for advertising campaign management across all our sites, and working with the community of Moderators on The Student Room.
