Why was the NHS created and what opposition was there to it? It has often been asserted that the NHS was created to help out the poor and disadvantaged people of Britain during the war and after it, others say it was to stop the rich such as doctors from being so avaricious- they only wanted to spend money, they didn't lend a hand to the poor, so in a way, the NHS was a big way of teaching the rich a lesson because it could cut their pay check in half, especially the doctors'. With the help of Nye Bevan, the government and the British public, a brand new creation evolved called the National Health Service. To every good idea created, there is always someone or something that opposes them. In this case, the opposers were the doctors, and there some main ideas proposed by the government that they did not...
