Nasima Khanom Voluntary Organisation A voluntary organisation is not legal, it does not have to exist but it helps members of the community. It relieves the pressure of statutory organisations. Examples of Voluntary organisations: - Hospices Day centres for children Day centres for elderly Befriending services Luncheon clubs Child protection agencies Childcare agencies (e.g. NSPCC) Help in the community (e.g. WRVS) Youth clubs Citizen's advice bureaux Rape crisis line Women's aid Voluntary organisations are funded by: - Donations Direct payment - giving money straight hand to the person. Sponsorship - the local authority and central government give grants to charities. The national lottery (lotto) Private organisations A private organisation is a service, which you have to pay for. The service does not have to exist, but it is very useful for clients who wish to pay a sum of money in return for the best treatment. Examples of Private organisations: - Private nursery Private school Private clinics/dentists/.
