Scientific thinking and scientific methods were leading to new ways of looking at the world, industrial development and economic growth. This scientific thinking spread to the world of medicine, stimulating individuals to document and research medical knowledge which brought huge improvements to public health. What caused people to be healthy of unhealthy in the industrial age? There were many factors in the industrial age that caused people to be healthy, or unhealthy. Public health played a large role during this period. The industrial revolution caused massive population increases in factory towns and cities.
