Should Mentally Ill Have Rights? John Weber HCM 403 - Dr Michael Popejoy April 20, 2007 Spring 2007 - Second Session I chose to write a paper on whether or not mentally ill should have rights. My reasoning for this topic is due to my interest within the realms of societal influence and medicine. I will cite some different psychiatric illnesses, define the disease and give my opinion and state facts on whether or not their individual rights should be altered. I would like to get anyone who reads my paper into a certain mind frame, so I will begin by briefly speaking of neglegence. If you walk through a nursing home, what do you see?
