For many others, it's a daily consideration that haunts them. Suicide does eventually enter all of our lives, either directly or indirectly but the situation becomes more cruel and unfair when a youth commits suicide. Even though this is a current crisis in today's society, youth for all of history and in all cultures have resorted to this ultimate form of self-destruction in some way. It is important for we as teachers to know as much as we can about this serious issue because if we have not encountered it yet, we will at some point in our teaching lives.
