This in turn has implications for the future of the nation in terms of economics, government policy and social structure. The purpose of this essay is to present some of the issues associated with low birth rates and how Australia will be affected in the future. It argues the point that the current fertility levels should not be considered a crisis, nor a huge concern as long as the economy and government policies are managed appropriately to cater for the future needs of Australian society.
