An Investigation into which material is the best at insulating a metal beaker Planning I want to find out which material insulates the best. I will need several types of materials all to be cut in the exact same area as to make the experiment fair. I need the water to be of equal volume and starting temperature. I also need to decide what the best volume, temperature and time will be. I think that the best would be around 80°, 200cc and 10 minutes. I need to repeat the experiment three times to get a more accurate result by finding the average. I also now need three controls (just a beaker with hot water and a lid) to compare with each material. I must use the same amount of material for each experiment.
