Can access to environmental information be seen as an environmental protection tool? Intro Access to environmental information is imperative to ensure meaningful public participation in environmental matters; it also enables the public to contribute to the environmental decision-making process. There are suggestions that public participation is likely to lead to better decision-making, which will enhance environmental protection.
