Inequalities within Health Care Healthcare, like many other services, does not always treat patients equally; many factors can affect how patients are treated. Some would consider that health inequalities occur due to factors such as culture, social class or gender, however is this true. These factors shall be considered during this essay. The WHO (World Health Organisation) global strategy of achieving Health for all is fundamentally directed towards achieving greater equity in health between and within populations. This implies that all people have an equal opportunity to develop and maintain their health, through fair and equal access to resources for health. Inequalities in health status between individuals and populations are inevitable consequences of genetic differences, of different social and economic conditions, or a result of personal lifestyle choices.
