Camden Bruner Jay Scrivner English 10/03/07 Sugar: An Engaging Argument Argued By Camden Bruner Despite huge marketing campaigns pushing the enormous sugar giant Splenda, recent scientific findings have shown synthetic sugars like Splenda to be unhealthy. These findings show natural sugar products provide more benefits for the consumer than Splenda. The Splenda corporation has tried to prevent some of the information about their product from reaching the consumers. The reality is that natural sugars are better than synthetic sugars like Splenda. Natural sugar products are less processed. They provide huge farming foreign sugar markets that Splenda has started to destroy. Natural sugar products provide better sugar options than synthetic sugars. Splenda is the most processed of all sugar products, even more so than white granulated sugar. When white sugar is made they take evaporated cane juice and bleach it, transforming the sugar from a brown substance to the white crystals we often see. The bleaching process
