It is shared by individuals who are communicating to one another and allows them to exchange their thoughts and ideas. It can be expressed through writing, signing, or even gestures depending on an individual's communication mode. Translations are used when there is a communication breakdown due to a language difference between two communicators. This can be in a written or spoken form. A translator is used to convey the message of the source language or text (SL) into the target language (TL).
