E.g. Arawaks, Caribs, Tainos, Lucayos, Kalinagos and Kalinas. Caribbean: (1) In the Caribbean Sea. (2) Region including the Caribbean Islands. There is not just one explanation for why Amerindians in the Caribbean became extinct. It would be true to offer that their extinction came to pass due to a number of reasons. In this essay, I am going to uncover how their extinction came about. Arawak Indians or Tainos, found mainly in the Greater Antilles - such as Cuba, Jamaica, Puerto Rico and the Island of Hispaniola, were exposed to Spanish colonialisation, from 1492.
