What Does Your User Want? What does the current system (perhaps paper based) produce? A printed Catalogue is sent, customers send request form then a Receipt is typed- all information completed by hand and stored on paper and in books. What processing (calculations, searches, sorts, etc.) is currently done and who does it? Paint costs established, multiplied by quantity added VAT and overall quantity of products added together to give total. All done by calculator with typed receipt What information does the current system need and how is it obtained? Prices of paint tins are stored on a written Database; this requires a lot of effort to find the requested paints/ filing aids this but is still not efficient. How much information is involved?
