... For this essay I have selected 2 academic articles for which I am going to analyse and evaluate using some principles and conventions of sociological research. The articles that I have selected are: 'Gender, Trust and Businesswomen drug dealers in the illicit economy' Denton and O'Malley (1999) and 'Crack to Heroin: Drug markets and transition' Jacobs (1999). These two studies use the approach of qualitative research methods. This is defined by the fact that qualitative research is concerned with developing explanations of social phenomena. It try's to help us understand the world in which we live in by asking the questions why?, how? and in what way?
