Introduction to the theory, benefits and uses of simulation: "Simulation is the act of reproducing the behaviour of a system using a model that describes the processes of a system." Once the development of the model is completed, the analyst can manipulate this model to examine the effects on the operating characteristics of interest to him/her. It is important, however, to realize that a simulation model cannot tell the analyst what should be done with a problem, in fact it is used to identify the best alternatives to a problem and obviously the best alternative will be selected by the analyst. Why is simulation used? Simulation is very useful to analysts when a waiting-line model becomes complex, it is also used for analysing processes.
