Oliver Stevenson Violence in Headlines Unfortunately, there is, and there always will be violence occurring somewhere in the world. Newspapers are one of the most common forms of media, along with television and radio. These are used to convey what they consider to be relevant information to us in a particular way or form. Violence is depicted in newspaper headlines quite regularly in many different forms be it local or national news. I am going to show reference to different types of verbs relating to violence in a variety of newspapers be it local or national news. Firstly, the correct Oxford Dictionary definition on violence is, 'Quality of being violent...' where violent is 'Involving great physical force or unlawful exercise of force'. Now one would say that violence is somewhat of an everyday occurrence, that you see 'kids' fighting in the street or some reference in a T.V soap to domestic violence, where...
