They are faced with various decisions and choices that they have to make. The media greatly impacts the choices that they make. The media is very powerful. It reaches these teenagers through the popular magazines, television shows, music videos, newspaper/magazine ads, celebrities, movies and music artists. The media especially targets adolescent females. These young women are easily influenced by the messages sent to them in the media. The ways that they dress, speak, act, and think are skewed because of the media. Even the most strong-minded or most opinionated woman has insecurities. The media plays on these insecurities directly and indirectly causing the female viewers to become vulnerable. These vulnerabilities allow the young women to become susceptible to eating disorders, teenage smoking, lowered self-esteem, ridicule from peers, and to some...
