The Butterfly Effect The film seized me from the start with its dark atmosphere and intelligent plot. The first thing that grabbed me and hooked my interest was the unorthodox title. The title at the head of this dark and dramatic film is also a well know theory of cause and effect. Basing a film on a theory is very hard to pull off and sell , people are generally not interested in theories. So how did Eric Bless and J Mackey accomplishes it? Well they turn it into an original, exciting and dark psychological drama with an intense plot and characters that grip you and don't let go. The plot evolves round a young boy called Evan who blacks out horrific events in his life and later finds he can relive them and possibly change them to have an effect on the future.
