How far do you agree with this statement in relation to Pulp Fiction and how did the BBFC react to it when awarding its classification? Released in 1996, 'Pulp Fiction' causing controversy at the time, is now hailed a cult classic. Directed by Quentin Tarintino, Pulp Fiction, like other Tarintino films such as 'Reservoir Dogs' and 'Natural Born Killers', raises huge debate about violence on screen. Critics accused the film of glamorising violence and drug use and also mixing comedy with violence. The BBFC however at the time passed the film uncut, but did ask for a re-framing of one shot, then later agreed with most critics that cuts to the film should have been made which weren't.
