Write a 1,000-word review of two films on the Battle of Britain The first film, "Way to the Stars" is a war film made in 1944, the time when an end to the war could be seen. The extract from this shows John Mills being introduced to his fellow pilots before the base comes under enemy attack. There are plenty of clues here that this is a propaganda film, produced by the ministry of information, mainly for that purpose. The men are remarkably calm in the face of danger and do not panic during the attack. The men in the air raid shelter remain in good spirits and as John Mills takes shelter under a truck, he is introduced to somebody as though nothing is happening. This sequence is making the point that the British fighting men are unperturbed at all times, even under attack. A lot of films made...
