What does the Trailer for Gladiator lead us to expect from the Film? From the first few seconds of the Gladiator trailer we are lead to believe that the film is of a military genre. We get this from the martial music that sets a mood of war and action. The first caption that says 'The General,' accompanied with the martial music proves that the film is of a military genre. The caption also replaces a voice-over so it can engage the audience. There is a fanfare that coincides with every caption. This caption then fades into an image. It is a medium close up of a general. The mise-en-scene links to the music as the image is of soldiers and military and so is the martial music. The mise-en-scene shows us that he is the most important because all the other soldiers are focusing on him. He...
