The way women are portrayed in Some Like It Hot Some like it Hot presents women in many different ways. The film acknowledges that there is much more to being a woman than trying to appeal to men and at the same time they are seen merely as figures of enjoyment. At the beginning of the film we are aware that women are seen simply as figures of enjoyment and objects for men to use. This becomes clear when Joe and Jerry are playing at a speakeasy and the women there, are dressed in small, tight-fitting clothes and dancing around on the stage. When it is raided by the police, the women jump around squealing and shrieking. At this point, women can be seen as impotent and helpless. Also, we get the impression that women are used by men, when Joe fabricates a feeble excuse to one of the receptionists for why...
