Although there have been so many highly rated science fiction films none of them have reached the level of the two greatest science fiction films of all time and they are "2001: A Space Odyssey" and "Blade Runner - The Directors Cut". These two films, in over twenty years have never been bettered and they have been the inspiration for many films. They are really the foundations of any science fiction film.
