If you imagined that every time you saw Jim Carrey on the cinema screen he would be usually dumb, amusing and extremely weird, and he would be playing a similar acting role to the previous films he's been in(Liar Liar, Ace Ventura, Dumb And Dumber and The Mask to name but a few)you wouldn't be alone. However The Truman Show contradicts the lot! Carrey's character Truman Burbank is not the stereotypical Jim Carrey that we have all come to love over the years. Truman still has some of the trademark Carey features but overall has a much deeper and more intriguing personality. Instead of just another reality TV show, The Truman Show crosses boundaries that have never been crossed before.
