These are just a few of the marvelled James Bond films that have been bombarding cinemas worldwide and smashing box-office records since the early 1960s, and are still hitting our screens with phenomenal success. The popularity of the films has swayed over the decades, mainly due to the change of actors performing the honourable role of Special Agent James Bond, or simply '007'. In the earlier years of the film being introduced, his character was portrayed as a humane, sophisticated and stereotypical Englishman. He was a polite gentleman whose charisma enabled him to allure the most attractive ladies and he was portrayed as a successful man, due to the fact that he smoked which was a signal of superiority in 1960s society.
