A stereotype is an idea that many people have about a thing or a group and that may often be untrue or only partly true. There are many different stereotypes foreigners have of Australia and its people. Through watching the Australian film The Castle, I have come to realise that Australians are seen very differently through other people's eyes. In this film the typical Australian as well as cultural groups are characterised. The main family in the movie was the Kerrigans. Daryl, the father, was very stubborn and ignorant towards authority figures. There are many examples of this. In one scene when the man from the council comes to do the appraisal on the house.
