Psycho When the context of "Psycho" was confirmed, it was a shock the Central America's citizens. Sexuality at the time was a taboo subject among most, and a film showing well known actors and actresses slightly undressed proved much to be frowned upon. This pre-release controversy added a must-see factor to Psycho, and with Alfred Hitchcock's incredible ideas brought to life, the film did not disappoint. With dramatic music, red herrings, an array of camera techniques and outrageous twists throughout the picture, audiences were kept on edge. There are numerous occasions in the film when anxiety and concern for the characters is felt by the audience. For example, when detective Arbogast enters Norman Bates' house, camera shots of the door, aerial views and close-ups lead the audience to believe the detective is expected - it turns out he is!
