How well do the opening sequences of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and " The World is Not Enough" establish the genre of these films? This essay will discuss how well opening sequences establish the genre of a film. I want to show that by just watching the couple of minutes of a film you will be able to tell what type of film it is, whether it is a romance, horror, comedy etc. I also want to be able to show how the camera angles, music and stunts allow us to tell what the genre of the film is within the opening sequence. During the essay I will be referring to two action films. These two films are the Indiana Jones film "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and the James Bond film "The World is Not Enough". Using these films as examples I will be looking at the way camera...
