How effectively does Shrek 2 fulfil all the criteria of MIGRAIN? One of the ways we could understand a media text like Shrek 2 is by using the key concepts of media language, ideology, genre, representation, audience, institutions and narrative. We remember these key concepts as MIGRAIN. Shrek 2 (2004) is a second sequence of Shrek (2001). The story of Shrek 2 is about when Shrek meets Fiona's parents and everything goes wrong. Shrek 2 has a linear narrative structure and contains no flashbacks or digressions. The film starts with an equilibrium of, an old book that opened by itself and the voice-over of a man retold the story of a princess and the dreadful curse she had (this story was told in Shrek).
