How does Peter Medak gain the viewers sympathy for Derek Bentley in the Film "Let him have it"? Peter Medak directed this film in a very biased point of view. He presents one side of an opinion; in this case Derek Bentley's. A director would use this device in a film to create a sense of sympathy and innocence towards Derek. Craig and Bentley were both teenagers and formed a very close, but brief friendship. Bentley was very naive and was lead by Craig to do whatever he wanted him to do. Craig is presented by the director to have control over Bentley. This story is controversial, because Medak has chosen a topic, which had been familiar with the public not so long ago.
