Examine the film '10 Things I hate about you.' Pay particular attention to the construction of the opening and how it prepares us for the rest of the film, the characterisation and the party scene. From the packaging, we can immediately tell that the film is aimed at teenagers and young people. This film is based on 'The Taming of the Shrew' by Shakespeare. However, it doesn't say this anywhere on the packaging. This would be so the producers didn't put off the younger viewers. The packaging has pink and black writing with a plain white background. The picture on the front is of the main characters. They are all quite young, in their teens, which draws the younger market to the film. We can also see this in the opening of the film. The titles at the very beginning are brightly coloured and jump around the screen, which shows again...
