He does this in many ways. The director portrayed Christopher Craig to give the image of a villain or a bad guy in a typical western film. In reality he might not have been like the way he was, but the director has showed his biased opinion in the way that he presents Christopher Craig to be. He is mainly dressed in a long black coat and is also wearing a black hat, this will give a very negative impression. This shows that he isn't a particularly a nice person to socialise with.
