Compare and contrast the openings of these films in terms of sound, camera shot, lighting, editing and characterisation. Which in your opinion makes the more effective opening and why? In the last forty years there have been two film releases of Sir William Golding's best selling novel, 'Lord of the Flies.' To help me answer the question I closely watched the first five minutes of both of these films and made notes of what I could see and hear.
