ENGLISH - Media Essay TASK: Compare the style and effects in the opening scenes of the Zeffirelli and Luhrman film versions of 'Romeo and Juliet'. The original play of 'Romeo and Juliet' was written by a famous poet and play writer called William Shakespeare, over 100 years ago. Even though he is now dead, his plays and poems have impressed lots of people and many of his plays have been modernised slightly and produced into various different film versions for today's society. There are several different versions of 'Romeo and Juliet' but the two that I will be discussing are by Baz Luhrman and Franco Zeffirelli. I have studied the opening scenes for both of these films and realised that while they both use the same script, they still have very different interpretations.
