Write a comparative analysis of two moving image extracts comparing the use of film language to convey meaning. The quote "Revenge is a dish best served cold" opens Kill Bill (Volume One) directed by Quentin Tarantino. This immediately informs the audience this will be a tale of retribution. Although obviously from the title, 'Kill Bill', it could already be deduced that this is a film containing violence and indeed probably death. I have selected the first few opening scenes to analyse, examining the film language, including the camera placement, editing techniques and sound. Tarantino uses many film language techniques to convey his ideas to his audience, particularly using close-up and jump shots, colour and sound effects.
