The stereotypical comparism and hierarchy between men and women is often portrayed in film as a form of character recognition. The female of a horror film would stereotypically be attractive, sex appealing and innocent. The male is known to be very masculine, therefore very strong, physical and is also sex appealing, though sex appeal isn't as important for a mans role as they are often used as horror inflicting roles such as vampires, mass-murderers or beasts. Some films, however reverse this tradition and place the female character in a more demanding, un-feminine like role, this character is mostly used as the theme of the film, such as the role Uma Thurman plays in Tarantino's 2003 hit 'Kill Bill'; as the bride who seeks revenge.
