Media studies Action Adventure Genre Simply by the name, "Action Adventure" then Action Adventure film genre would be thought to be the easiest of all genres to explain. But the reality is, that unlike a genre such as the Western, whose standard markers are largely clear-cut (cowboys, deserts, horses, shoot-outs) the action adventure film is so broad category that its definition becomes a term of almost no use at all. Technically, all films have action in them and every film is an action film as marked by the cry of "action" by the director at the beginning of all scenes.
