... A comparison of the opening fifteen minutes of the 1966 and 1992 film adaptations of 'Lord of the Flies' The novel 'Lord of the Flies' was first published in 1954, written by William Golding. Two films were then released, one in 1964, directed by Peter Brook and then another 1992, directed by Harry Hook. Both films were based on the same novel but vary from each other in many ways. The opening sequences in the two films are presented in a very different way. In the 1960's film the credits are shown over still photographs which change with the beat of the background music. This is because as it is an older film, Hook didn't have the same capabilities as directors have today, so it is hard to make it look good. This technique makes it more interesting without using the modern methods. The photos in the background represent school to begin
