World Literature Assignment 1 "Comparative study, between the character Shukhov (from: "One Day In The Life Of Ivan Denisovich") and Pechorin (from: " A Hero Of Our Time")". For this world literature assignment, I have chosen to compare and contrast two main characters from the novels: "A Hero Of Our Time", written by Mikhail Lermontov and "One Day In The Life Of Ivan Denisovich" by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn. After mentioning these two novels, it is quiet obvious that the characters are Grigory Alexandrovich Pechorin (known as Pechorin), and Ivan Denisovich (known as Shukhov). In the novel of: "One Day In The Life Of Ivan Denisovich" we see that the story evolves around Shukhov, who has been sentenced labour camp for ten years. The book itself is a description of Shukhov's day (as the title of the book mentions). However, in this novel we also learn and see that prison life it tough...
