Explain how the provision in Article 19(2) of the Basic Law is implemented. The Hong Kong court system preserves the same structure as existed before 1 July 1997, except for the replacement of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council by the Court of Final Appeal. The hierarchy of the court system is the Court of Final Appeal, the Court of Appeal, the Court of First Instance, the District Court and the Magistrates' Court. Article 81 of the Basic Law details this hierarchical structure and the maintenance of the previously in place judicial system. In this sense, the jurisdictions and procedures
