"The history of property law is the history of the protection of wealth?" Discuss. Throughout this essay I shall be concentrating on the area of property law concerning copyright. I will look at how this area of law evolved throughout history and in analysing the reasons why it has developed in the way it has I shall be able to show whether or not its aim is to protect wealth. Copyright is not a new idea but has been in place since scholars in Ancient Greece had to impose their right to be recognised as authors of their works in a period when plagiarism was not a crime.
