We understand that the "Crest-Jewel of Vedic Learning" has married an invalid and set himself up as the "householder" who considers this act will allow him to "get ripe and ready" (2). 'Ripe and ready' for what begs the question: the transition to the next stage of renouncement or, implicitly applying connotations to a transcendence (Samskara) to a new rite of passage for the living, albeit Chandri.
