Copyright Act. A copyright is a bundle of exclusive property rights intended to protect the rights of those who create works of various kinds. These rights are defined in law by specifying restricted acts which only right owners may control. This protection is to prevent exploitation of their works by others. A Copyright Act is an act made by the Act of Parliament to make copyright legal and to control the copying of copyright material. Unfortunately, there is no Copyright Act in Brunei. Instead, there is an emergency order on copyright. The Emergency (Copyright) Order has been enacted in 1999.
