By Harpreet Chadha Module Tutor: Peter Harvey Homelessness, as you may well know, is a predicament in which thousands of people find themselves in across the U.K. However, many thousands more may find that they are not technically homeless; some may even find that they could be considered homeless even if they themselves did not. So what is the definition of homelessness? Well, the criteria that must be met in order to be considered homeless is contained within the Housing Act 1996 and the amendments made by the Homelessness Act 2002. It is the job of the local authority to interpret these Acts into methods of execution and to provide the people with a legal definition of what is homelessness.
