This essay sets out to explore the relationship between film and the law and what subsequent effects the alliance has had upon each individually. It shows the general impact that the surge in interest in the field has had upon society. It also indicates what relationship this has with the move away from the traditional black letter approach to the law. By taking Sarats idea, this essay will show exactly how "the world as a picture has altered and expanded the sphere of legal life itself." One of the most prolific overhauls of the law is with regard to its gradual mergence with the filmic realm - the law has been absorbed into popular culture in ways never before witnessed.
