Introduction The aim of this document is to set out what, why and how a will may be revoked by a testator. However, before a revocation can take place there must be a valid will to revoke. There are a number of rules to be complied with to make a valid will, which are set out in the Succession Act 1965. These range from the testator's capacity to make a will, due execution to the admission of valid codicils or alteration to the will. However as these are not of issue I feel it unnecessary to go into to detail on them and I will now try to enlighten you on the revocation of wills in Irish probate law.
