The definition of rape was changed fundamentally by the Criminal Justice & Public Order Act (CJPOA) 1994, Sec 142 which substitution sec 1(2) Sexual Offences Act 1956 by stating that it is an offence for a man to rape a woman or another man & that rape occurs if sexual intercourse (either vaginal or anal) is committed without the consent of the other party & he knows the other party does not consent or is recklessly as to whether that person consents.
