The following essay intends to examine the procedure by which the county court operates, looking at all aspects of the court- actually getting your case to the county court, the way the case is dealt with whilst in court and the affects that the outcome of the trial has i.e. if found liable, getting leave and appealing for a re-trial. At an initial glance, it becomes apparent that the county court deals with Civil cases only- all tort claims; cases for recovery of land; partnership, trust and inheritance disputes; bankruptcy and divorce cases; matters under the Race Relations Act 1976 and some small claim cases within its 230 courts throughout England and Wales.
