The Common Professional Examination or CPE is a one year training course in core legal subjects. The next stage is to complete the one year Legal Practice Course or LPC. This has significant practical content, more so than its predecessor the previous Law Society Finals course. The LPC includes training in client interviewing, negotiation, advocacy, drafting documents and legal research.
